The book is really wholesome. I love how Emily Henry took the tropes and flipped around in a most caring way. In a way that you feel she cares about the story and the characters. I love the pacing and if we had to do a chemistry test, these characters would most definitely pass with honors.
All the trope-fit-characters have a life and a purpose, so they don’t feel tropie, instead they feel real. They could be real people, and that's a beautiful thing when you're reading a contemporary romance. I love how you can tell who is texting based on the way they write, I love that they have a voice of their own. I love how the romance wasn't insta-love, but it wasn't exactly slow burn either. They build that up with a lot of tension between them. The smut scenes? Well done! None of the nonsense of "his sausage" you know? Just a little bit of awkward conversation that even Nora knew didn't make any sense.
I love how Emily Henry took a (literal) list of tropes and dismembered piece by piece and put it together in a slightly different way, not too far from the trope, not too close that we get bored.
And I can't even start to talk about the sisters' relationship. I'm a sucker for that, and it was so beautiful to watch (actually read) they get back together the way they deserve. Their relationship with their mom was so real, every relationship here felt real, actually.
It's 4+ stars. And I think the only reason it's not 5, it's because I'm not into romance that much.

This hilarious, beautiful book was something I didn’t know I needed. I love that despite its genre and sometimes emotional subject matter, it never takes itself too seriously. And the humor absolutely made me laugh out loud. This book also did something I never would expect from a romance novel: it taught me about myself. If you want a fun, hopeful, and funny read, I highly recommend Book Lovers ❤️

Pulled on the heartstrings, a great read, but not my favorite EH book (Beach Read is my fav. as of right now). If you're looking for some *spice*, you won't find too much here. If you're looking for a book that has the romance as the main plot, this isn't it. Though the banter is FANTASTIC. Charlie is snarky and witty and I really loved his and Nora's relationship. Nora is also great, after you get past her dragon-lady wall. She truly does have a heart and cares SO much for her little sister, often to the point of being too selfless.

This is primarily about two sisters being on vacation in a small town. The lackluster and frustrating parts in this book were the sister. As an older sister, I really felt for Nora- the protectiveness towards a younger sister, wanting what's best for her, hurting when she is hurting, feeling a desire to become close again. Libby provides a lot of younger sister drama, a lot of which left me rolling my eyes at the lack of communication.

Honestly, I loved a lot of this book, but the last like, 20% (aside from the Epilogue) removed half a star for me.

This story is not worl changing, but it really got to me.
I feel like it is less a romance book than a book about change and love(not only the romantic kind). And I loved watching the MC grow and develop and honestly her(with her also being a kind of character not that often found in novels) and the approach of deeper topics and there still being some banter between the MC and her love interest, who I also liked and I really appreciated the focus of the book being on the life of the MC.

For those who are interested in that part of the story...spice 1/5...no fade to black but also just 1+ scene as it is not central to the story.
