Enjoyed the Christmas spirit and vibes, but was lost by a lot of the character awkwardness. The Christian aspect really threw me off in a bad way - using “being a bad Christian” as an excuse for your mom having Alzheimer’s or having mental health issues is NOT okay with me. Also, the way Mackenzie was utterly silent for 40% of the book and then all the sudden okay was very strange for me.

adventurous emotional funny hopeful inspiring

This was such a cute and well written story!! The things that I liked most about it were some of the aspects that you don’t usually find in a rom-com but I loved it because that’s real life. The book does show what it’s like to have a parent dealing with memory loss. It also shows what it’s like to be a Christian who struggles with mental illness. I also like that the book has a good ending but doesn’t end in an unrealistic way. Will recommend to others for sure!
