If you like her, or her show or her blog you'll love the book. It gave me the background story that I love in her own voice which was great.

Ree Drummond has certainly made a name for herself with her popular blog, TV show, and cookbooks. In this book she shares the story of her first few years with Marlboro Man (as she affectionately calls her husband) - from dating, to marriage, to having their first child. It’s a sweet story and she paints her husband as being the perfect man but I just don’t think there was enough story to warrant a book. I found it repetitive (annoyingly so at times) and not particularly unique. Sure, they had some bumps in the road but who doesn’t? I almost gave up on the book but powered through and am sorry to say it was a miss for me.

I just happened to find this at the library yesterday and then just happened to finish it at 10:30 last night. I could not put it down! It was such a great love story, full of romance (but nothing too racy), and laugh out loud funny. I am pretty sure I am now in love with Marlboro Man :)

To paraphrase one of the reviews on the book jacket, "One word: vapid."
funny lighthearted relaxing fast-paced

A cute, if cheesy, read. Fun if you read her blog.

I couldn't finish this. I really don't like this woman after reading this. Also the writing is sophomoric. Please stop making stupid people famous.

I couldn't put this book down! I thoroughly enjoyed it. I have always been a hopeless romantic and it is always a treat to read about real modern fairytale love stories. I call it a fairytale not in the sense that everything is perfect and they had no struggles because that certainly isn't the case. I call it that because when you find someone who loves you for all your imperfections, who is there by your side to catch you when you fall and be a partner and companion in all the struggles of life is so much better than a prince charming with a perfect and easy life. Because with the former you know what true unconditional love is. That love grows stronger with every hard time you have to push through together. There is also no better live story than when opposites attract, when you complete each other. I really like Ree's writing style, I loved her wit and humor and I love how she kept it real. Every woman wants to read a book that talks about what it's like to be a woman. To hear other woman's embarrassing moments, not so pretty bodily happenings, frantic panic trying to make yourself presentable when your boyfriend shows up unexpectedly, sudden spurts of crying etc. Because it happens to all of us we just don't always remember that. So it's nice to be reminded :) So enough of the novel I've written here. I loved the book! Thanks Ree for sharing your incredibly beautiful and hilariously real love story. :)

"Read" this as an audio book. Imagine a young Mary Steenburgen reading this book to you and you have the author's voice down. She is very sweet and for me, after about the fifth chapter, I was hooked. And now I'm on her blog, mostly to get a look at Marlboro Man, but also to see all that has happened since she wrote this book. She did a great job of telling her story and now I want to hear more!
