This was a cute book. Having read a lot of this off her blog years ago, I still loved how her dramatic flare continued throughout her memoir. Many parts made me laugh out loud.

I absolutely love the Pioneer Woman's blog, so I loved her book too. Her style is so funny.

Have no idea why I liked this book as much as I did, but I thought it was adorable and romantic. Just read like an entertaining but true chick flick :)

I'm so glad I finally got to read this book! It was a cute story and it just makes me love Ree more. It shows her life was not always perfect.

At just over 300 pages, this book was a quick read but the chapters seemed long. Most (if not all) of the book is taken up by Ree meeting "Marlboro Man" (why didn't she just call him Ladd??), dating, marriage, and her pregnancy with their first child.

Ree seemed like a sharp cookie, but a little too naive. She didn't know what a backhoe was? She wondered if going into labor would hurt and what it would do to her figure? I love to watch her cook, but the writing here is just a little too choppy and juvenile. Maybe it's better on her blog?

I adore the blog but this memoir is nothing like the blog.

I loved this book. I can't even count the number of times that Ree had me laughing, wheezing, and/or laughing until I cried. (The really really hysterical stuff happens towards the end, near her wedding day and with the birth of her first child.)

Really enjoyed Ree and Marlboro Man's love story.

one word review: windswept

i'm not really a reader of romance, nor do i follow the pioneer woman's blog. i do know of her, so i thought this would be a fun read.

i just about blew through the first 96 pages, i could not get enough of ree's cowboy love story! the story of their courtship is the stuff of dreams and it makes good escapism. there's something about parts 2 and 3 that loses some of the magic. maybe her continued inability to be realistic about the way she communicates in her relationship and just grow up? i also think if you're christian, you probably relate to the book a bit more in the later parts.

either way, it still gets 4 stars from me instead of 3 for the first thrilling section. i read this one in two days!

I liked this book. I could see how some would think that it overdid the cuteness every once in a while, but it's a love story I think you signed on for that when you picked it up.
