I believe a good writer shows you things and makes you reach your own conclusions. This book not only tells you exactly how you are supposed to analyze something, but it then proceeds to beat you over the head with it. I can't even count the number of times I rolled my eyes while reading this - all of the philosophical observations made by the dog and the tedious racing analogies drove me insane. This book is obviously beloved by lots of people, and I guess the relationship between the dog and Denny was kind of sweet, but yeah - definitely not for me, and if I didn't have to finish it I would have quit 10 pages in.
