I had actually forgotten I owned these. It's been a fair bit since I'd actually looked at the collection of manga that I own, so it's not unusual that I would be able to entirely forget about them. I dug these out the other day and decided I would give them another read, because I felt like it. I had to knock off 1 stare not because of the actual story, but because of the way they put the book together. There were actually parts where I couldn't read the dialogue because it was lost to the binding. I had to nearly rip my book in half to be able to see the words.

I love the story line. It's well written and I think it shows a lot of potential for vampire novels and manga in the future. The way they go about talking about these vampires and Methuselah, a vampire-like being from Mars that feeds on the blood of other vampires. I couldn't help but laugh at the antics of Father Nightroad and the way that Father Tres didn't understand most of what he said. I'm not sure if anybody would understand half of it, so I don't feel so bad for Tres.

I don't think it's quite believable that Esther would just add herself along on their trek back with the Vatican party after everything that happened. She hardly mourned the cathedral she was at at all, and then barely even bothered to think about what she was going to do once she GOT to Rome. I think she really should have put more thought into it.

Other than that, I gave this manga a 4/5 and I am planning to pick up the next books in the series as soon as I can actually afford them.
