This book is a love letter to being young and finding who you are and what your place is in the world. It's a love letter to friendships and first loves. It's a love letter to fandom. It's a book I wish existed when I was 18 and figuring myself out. Bravo.

The first thing I heard about this book that made me want to read this was that it was essentially a sapphic version of Heartstopper which immediately made me want to dip my toes back into LGBT+ YA romance novels. I feel as though the majority of LGBT+ media is all about doom and gloom (particularly if it’s anything aside gay/bi cis men, sorry!!) so hearing that there was a book similar in feel-good vibes but for sapphics like me was amazing!
This book perfectly encapsulates that fizzy feeling that one gets when they are experiencing a crush, the fear of rejection, the bittersweet yearning and yet also the sweetness of simply liking someone in that kind of way. In addition, I feel that this is the perfect book for any queer, mainly sapphic, teenagers especially if they are a person of colour, as there is a focus on how that influences one’s interaction with their identity.
