"Each atom of that stone, each mineral flake of that night filled mountain, in itself forms a world. The struggle itself toward the heights is enough to fill a man's heart. One must imagine Sisyphus happy."

Happiness without purpose or meaning is possible by owning that in front of you.

Had previously read the final chapter in isolation, but the whole collection of essays together really brings a whole new light to the most famous piece. Beautiful contemplation of life and finding purpose.

The rejection of the eternal is the most profound part of this book for me, it is a hard left from other existentialists.
The idea that there may not be any meaning in life, no purpose and no reason can be haunting, but the idea that we don't need to create meaning to be happy is explained incredibly well. To be authentic is to be happy in each and every moment because you are alive.
