3.5 stars. Enjoyed it.

For some reason I just could not get into this book. I liked the present life of Molly and her desire to adopt and needed to resolve her childhood before making it final. The childhood parts took up the majority of the story and while I was reading I kept saying to myself "What does this matter?" I couldn't see the point in much of the story. It seemed like a lot of filler.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I just love how Diane Chamberlain weaves such beautiful stories, effortlessly flowing between decades ago & current day. She tells a tale that sucks you in immediately, draws you to the characters & fascinates you with every curve. No huge twist in this one but it is a story worth telling. It touches on living with chronic disease, the right to death with dignity, unique family structures & family secrets that stay hidden for generations. This was a good, solid, enjoyable read.

This book legit broke my heart and I cried for many chapters towards the end. Many, many chapters. And I'm not a crier.

This book will hit you right in the feels. It’s a good dual storyline where we see both the main character in adolescence and in adulthood. We get to watch as she unpacks a tragic summer and the lasting impacts that it has had on her. Good for fans of women’s fiction.
