The art and the world building are both fantastic. This take on spaceships is so interesting. I didn't know it was a webcomic before, but that makes sense with how slow it is at the beginning. I don't mind it, but I can see how others might want something more tightly plotted. Also, sometimes it's hard to tell the different characters apart because they tend to be "youthful waifs" as another reviewer described it lol. But there are no men in this book at all, which is refreshing!

Broken clock but i LOVE how Tillie Walden draws, shapes and panels are beautiful as always, as well as the colors - much more varied than in previous works i read and also used to further convey point in time, emotions and atmosphere.

There's a lot of melancholy in the space setting - and the art conveys it really well - as it is a tale of overcoming isolation and forming bonds.
Structure-wise it flows very well, as we first meet our cast and slowly uncover what's in their past while also seeing them become more and more of little family and discover a bit more of the world they live in. Mia and Grace school romance was so! cute!
Overall there isn't that much worldbuilding, but this is a character driven story and that's fine (though i'll be happy if Walden ever decides to go back to this setting).
Having read nearly all the other stuff from hers avaible I can see the storytelling has really evolved.

The ending
Spoiler surpised me, as I was prepared for a tragedy or something very bittersweet, and I'm glad it went for a more positive directions (endings that are new beginnings are among my faves)
