Really enjoyed the art, an intriguing story but didn't much care for the characters, which seemed like the focus of this book.
Tillie Walden has to be one of my favorite contemporary comic artists. She has such a way with line and color and this story has such a beautiful world and narrative. Every page I was in awe of the artwork and also loving the story. I loved the full page spreads and panels without dialogue where the image was really allowed to speak for itself. It was also really cool to read a non verbal character, in a comic, with character depth! Also v cool that said character was non binary too!

i genuinely do not say this enough but i couldnt put this book down. the story telling was immaculate, i was so invested in every character and their storyline. tillie walden is an incredible writer, and an amazing graphic novelist too, the color story of each page blended with the events so well. the ocean themed space was also amazing!! grace and mias relationship is so sweet, before and after the time skip. i need to read so many more of tillies books now, this is officially one of my new favorite books.
