Beautiful artwork throughout which gave the book’s settings fun depth. The emotional outbursts of all the characters (including the adults) and the frequently rash decision making made the plot line a little frustrating. Some emotionally powerful moments here and there, but maybe YA space romances aren’t for me
Ok, this book is pretty cool. Love the space opera vibes and the artwork matches the story so well. Character development for some of the people (especially Grace) could have been better. Also, super cool that the entirety of humanoid existence appears to be female-bodied.

It all adds up to a beautiful work of art.

I love the colors. The illustrations. How tender the queer love and friendships were. so, so cute.
Bold, dreamy, expansive view of space that is more about girlhood, gender identity and friendship than space, sci-fi, or exploration. A fun read.

Things I liked:
The art.
There was not one single male character in the whole book.
Space setting.
Things I didn't like:
I had trouble telling the characters apart.
Slow pacing until the end - endless boarding school scenes!
The entire crew agreeing to a dangerous mission so one crew member could talk to a girl.
I really wanted to like this more than I did, but alas! Here we are at a 2-star rating.

Set in a far distant future, where people fly to distant reaches of the galaxy in ships that look like fish, and apparently men have been weeded out of the gene pool, Mia finds her family among interstellar construction workers/pirates.
Alma and Char run the crew on the SS Sunbeam, and they travel to abandoned places to repair damages buildings for new purposes. Slowly, we find out the story of Mia's school, her first love, and how they were separated.
Sometimes I got lost in the illustrations. They were wild and dark, and as the action mounts toward the end, it became pretty hard for me to track the different action sequences. There were also some details I found odd or confusing, but overall it's a joy to read a book about strong women doing crazy things in space.

In realtà non so cosa sia successo. Ho scoperto Su un raggio di sole per caso, in libreria.
Credo mi abbiano catturato i colori, in primo luogo.
