I was hoping for an even mix of fantasy and romance, but this leans more romance than I prefer. Still a fun story!

I really wanted to love this. I loved Swordheart but this just didn't hit the same. The MMC and FMC dance around each other like middle schoolers but they're in their 30's and it's annoying. They're both boring characters with nothing really interesting about them. The humor of Swordheart was just not there at all. My favorite characters were side characters who barely had any parts in the book. The plot developed too slowly to capture my interest.

Swordheart however is absolutely amazing and has none of the weaknesses of this book. Totally recommend for a comedic and cozy romantasy.
