I think this might be the first time I’ve ever full-on bawled my eyes out while reading a book. I felt like I couldn’t breathe reading those last chapters. I knew where things were headed, but I didn’t want to believe it. Life is rough. Mental health is important. Dillon and Kam’s story is important. I’m definitely going to need time to process this one. Jen Lyon sure knows how to pull the heartstrings.

Well that sure was a rollercoaster.
I was in absolute shock when "Take 1" was happening. I refused to believe that I would have seen so many people recommend this book considering how controversial the whole "bury your gays" thing has been over the last few years. I knew there was no way the book could end with Dillon's suicide, but when Take 1 just kept going and going I started to get really worried. THEN, when Take 2 started, I hadn't noticed that it said "Take 2", and I started to worry that she did make the decision to turn around, but when she starts to she'd slip and fall and the whole thing would actually be an accident, but everyone would think she did it on purpose. I am SO RELIEVED that that DID NOT happen, and it was in fact a different outcome entirely. And I really appreciated the author's note at the end sort of explaining why the Take 1 and Take 2 happened like that. However I'm still taking off 1/4 star due for unnecessary emotional damages lol

This book wrecked me, but I wouldn’t change a thing. The character development and plot lines are beautiful and heart wrenching. After finishing, I sat up most of the night reflecting on the sum of the character’s relationship. I wholeheartedly recommend this book but it is not without warning.

Incredibly powerful and emotional read. It dives deep into the struggles of being a high-performance athlete, the immense pressures, and the mental toll that can be so overwhelming. The story really highlights how everyone deserves a chance to live beyond their struggles, and the portrayal of the main character’s journey is heart-wrenching yet beautifully written. The ending, though, absolutely shook me—it was so powerful, it literally brought me to tears. And that last line... I still can’t get over it. It’s raw, it’s real, and it left me thinking about it long after I finished the book. An unforgettable experience.

5 Stars are not enough. The love story between the two main characters, Kameryn and Dillon is beautiful to behold. Funny, charming, lovely. This book took me on an emotional journey that I still haven't recovered from. All the feels - the good, the bad, and the ugly crying. My heart and soul have been rendered dazed, spent, contempative, and ultimately grateful. This is one story that will stick with you for a good long while.

It’s hard to put into words how much I loved this book and how it made me feel. I genuinely felt every emotion. It’s not a romance, it’s a love story. I recommend this book to everyone, it’s a story that will stick with me for a while.
