This is the second time I’ve read this book now. The first time was in high school and I still love it now as much as I did before.
It still manages to take me on the emotional rollercoaster it creates within the pages.

I now remember why I never kept any of the books I read from this series...it just wasn't worth it.
Okay, listen, I never actually finished this series (I got to about book 6), I felt like the books weren't big enough and that the series was being drawn out for book installments.  And yes, I know I told you all that in my re-read review of the first one but it is because it brings me to another point- if the authors could just stop reminding me of everything that happened in the book before we could literally cut this book in HALF.

I felt like I was being reminded constantly of everything that just happened in book one, which was annoying.  Splice that together with a lot of overly sexual scenes and just a sprinkle of new information and you have this book.

In the first book I mentioned that it felt a bit overly sexual for the target audience, but that it might have just been because it was an audiobook.  I listened to this second one too and I can absolutely say it's overly sexual.  In fact, it made me feel gross. And listen, I'm not a prude, I love a good steamy something but listening to this book...bleck. I felt yucky.  Especially when Zoey was flirting with Lauren Blake, that temporary professor.  I know he wasn't super old (21 to her 16) but it just felt wrong.  Had I been reading the actual book I would have started to skim over these parts because they were just too much for me and they weren't even helping advance the story any.

Also, Zoey spends a lot of time calling Aphrodites a 'ho', but let's be honest with ourselves for a second and recognize that Zoey did a lot of stuff in this book between OMIGsuperhot Eric, DeliciouslyYummy Heath and HotandMysterious Lauren and she should probably chill the fuck out over the names and shade she throws Aphrodites' way.

The book was OK.  I don't think I'm going to keep going though.
As much as I would like to know what happens once and for all...I think I'm just going to Google a summary of the series instead.  It pains me to admit that, but it pains me more thinking I'm going to have to listen to another lustful installation of this. 🙊

Better than Marked, but still with obnoxious dialogue as I mentioned in my review for Marked. I do find Zoey obnoxious and her poor choices making me roll my eyes at her when I should be rooting for her as the protagonist more.

3 guys. Really? It'd be different if the men she were involved with and herself had an understanding and had an open relationship. No judgement there then. But that is *clearly* not the case. I don't know, maybe I'm too judgmental. But this was ridiculous to me.

Regardless, I do love the Cherokee culture in the books that I think they are positively depicting without disrespecting it. I love Zoey's grandma. I guess my thoughts for the reviews on these books are slightly disjointed, maybe because parts of the books seem this way. To the next one!
