Grim, dark Turtles. People say the original 80s Turtles were overly dark and violent, but I don't think so, the first issue is an over violent satire of Daredevil, but after that, the Turtles become much more like the TV shows. That's not here, this is the really dark Turtles, but for no other reason than being the extreme 90s. The first arc is overly violent and the Turtles personalities don't really come across well define, they all are the angry one. Plus, there's not much character development to take in. It's interesting seeing a series begin at a point where most of the commonly told stories are in the past, but the execution is just lacking, and I only read this out of my desire to try to complete a Turtles graphic novel collection. Will not be revisiting.
