step-brother isn't my normal cup of tea but for some reason i decided to give this one a go and I'm so glad I did. sarcastic, bi-awakening, heart-warming, oops I just kissed my self professed enemy. there is a tease that we're not done with their story and I'm excited to see where it leads as I really enjoyed this one.

***ARC Review***

This is my honest and voluntary review for the ARC I received.

Briar Prescott has a way with words. I loved the premise for this book and the dialogue is exceptional! The banter between Lake and Ryker is *chef’s kiss.* (Also, there’s hockey! I loved the Wells cameo!)

Lake and Ryker are stepbrothers (in a loose sense of the word) in college that enter into a marriage of convenience (they marry for access to money from a trust, but it’s for better reasons than you think). They are total opposites. Lake is sarcastic. Ryker is loved by all and somewhat gentle. Lake is gay. Ryker is straight. Things shift when they kiss at their wedding. It’s a doozy and it’s scorching hot! Both MCs have to figure out how to handle their newfound attraction to each other. Ryker goes through a bi-awakening and things heat up in this book. Lake and Ryker have chemistry that neither of them can deny.

While both MCs are happy to partake in a physical relationship, neither are counting on an emotional one. Lake and Ryker try to keep things casual for quite a while. Ryker wants more, but Lake is hesitant to acknowledge how much their connection has deepened. The couple have to deal with some push-pull and a bit of conflict (kudos to Lake for changing things up and fighting for Ryker) before they reach their HFN. I feel like it could be an HEA, except for the “for now” that Prescott includes at the end of the book.

Fingers crossed that another book is coming!
