This book was okay. But it kept pissing me off. One of them would be angry one minute and then the other would talk them into sex and then all would be right in the world agin, all anger forgotten.

Meh.. I am NOT feeling this book. DNF at 29%

Hero who has a secret underground MMA ring and actually fights - this sounds hella good. But then suddenly millionaire??

The heroine is an EMT and works at the hospital but is squeamish with blood and violence? Hunny, I think you’re in the wrong career. Just me though.

I thought it was written by a 16 year old. The dialogue and texting were physically hard to read because they were so bad.

I ended up skimming a lot to get to the end of this. I could not stand Makayla. Even after her explanation about her father, I don't understand why she kept freezing and freaking out after he tied her up, and even snuck out after, then she'd be mad that he wasn't contacting her. She was so afraid to get tied up and for him to control her, but she kept going back, and when he finally opened up to her after she nagged him through the whole book about not being able to see the real him or know anything about him and after he said he loved her, she decided she couldn't say it back. She acted like a wishy-washy bitch through the whole book, and then she was upset when he broke it off, and when his friend came to ask her to come to the gym and talk him out of his death wish, she refused (she did end up going, but for me it was too late). Torment was totally hot, and while he was a control freak, he bugged me a lot less than Mac. Everything about her just rubbed me the wrong way. I constantly wanted to smack her and yell at her.

Apparently a spicy romance. No spice until ~half way in. Erratic character actions and plot jumps throughout.

Written entirely in first person (from the point of view of a vapid character, hurts to read). Some good humour in the observations/reactions of the lead female character.

Annoying bits: Discovery that main male character is also
super rich
was a bit jumpy. Reactions to the Doctor's actions. The disrespect involved towards the lead female character by the people who take her to 2 restaurants (on the same day) and order rubbish options on her behalf - I.e. things she can't eat or won't sustain her (not enough calories/cards to get through the day).

Ebook via Libby.
