i didn’t take through as quickly without maddy at my side and some of this i found a bit tedious but i like the end ! now what happen ! i am flip flopping around

Didn't like it as much as the first 2, didn't enjoy the focus on the politics and context but maybe that's my brain power. I wanted more about their friendship not just Elena making silly decisions

I convince myself it can’t possibly get any better after each book and then it does. 

The first book was childhood, the second was teenagers and this one is all politics and politics and I love it. I love how it shows the political climate of the world during the time its set in. It shows the very real struggles of the working class from Lila’s point of view who never got out of her neighbordhood but also what happens to Elena as she gets out and makes something of herself but also loses herself in motherhood and has struggles that are just as Valid as Lila’s.

I’m amazed. This is an incredible book
