Great
This was a great story. I honestly can’t believe in the duration on the entire story, Sugar never once attended a game. I’m not sure why that bothers me but it does

I LOVED THIS STORY!!!!!!!! ...AND I'LL STOP YELLING!!!!
I have loved every single story that Ms. Mills Madden has decided to put out in the world, but her sports romances?? They are by far my favorite. This one had it all. Heart, humor, angsty goodness. Every damn thing I need as a reader. She pulls you in and never ever lets you go. Her banter, connection between all involved is perfection. I am so excited for the next story. Totally enjoyed this one.

Z and Sugar had so much to overcome. I loved this book. I felt all the emotions. I love how Ilsa addressed Z’s issues. How he powered through and made his and Sugars dreams come true.
Zach is the captain of the hockey team with a reputation of being a man whore. His past haunts him daily. Sugar is from the wrong side of the tracks tying to prove her worth. When she needs his help they make a bargain to be in a pretend relationship with one rule... no falling in love. They both have a greater goal... professional hockey and law school. So what happens when you hook up and it is off the charts incredible? Fun read.
Oh. My. Gosh. This book had me grinning, swooning, and staying up way too late to finish! Boyfriend Bargain is the perfect mix of fake dating, hockey hotties, and emotional depth.
Why I Loved It:
- Sugar Ryan: She’s a determined Southern girl trying to claw her way into law school, and I admire her grit. Sugar is quirky, introverted, and totally relatable.
- Zack Morgan: The hockey star with swagger, but underneath it all? He’s got layers. Zack’s struggle with anxiety is handled so well—it adds this realness that makes him more than just a "perfect" hero.
- Fake Dating Fun: Their "boyfriend bargain" starts off as a win-win plan for both. But the chemistry? Off. The. Charts. The banter between them is funny, flirty, and totally addictive. And when things heat up... whew, get ready!

Although I appreciate getting my sex scenes early on, the whole alpha male in a hockey team was not the best and the whole "she looks like my dead ex-girlfriend" was a big nope for me.
I recieved this arc in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Ilsa Madden Mills and Social Butterfly for this opportunity! If you love all things new adult and sports romances(especially when it’s more about the lives of the characters and not just the sport) this book is for you! Sugar Ryan was a great character, she seemed very relatable in age and personality. She definitely knew what it was like to grow up “normal and appreciative” She is a hard worker and pushed herself to achieve what she wants for herself. Zack Morgan was the cocky, hockey captain that could get any girl but no girl was worth his heart. I loved every aspect of this story, there was emotion and what felt like real chemistry between the two characters. There were a lot of side characters, which I would love to see in the future in their own book!
This was a 350 page book that felt like it was 500 pages. It just dragged for me.
I did like that it addressed anxiety and panic attacks. I thought the author and book did a pretty good job with these topics.
I wasn't a huge fan of the last 1/3 to 1/4 of the book which is why it got knocked down to 2 stars. It just ended up being alright for me.
