I felt like hardly anything happened in this book? A good 20% could have been cut. Interesting to know more about the world building and character backstories. But I wanted more action, the latter half was gripping but slowed right down after the plane crash. The ending of book four made me so excited to read this one, and I assumed this one would end wildly to lead into the final book of the series…. talk about the calm before the storm.

What on earth is happening with this plot. It’s becoming convoluted and ridiculous even for a YA dystopian novel. I’m trying not to be too mean but Tahereh really should have kept this series as a single trilogy. Why am I reading on if I dislike it so much? Because clearly I enjoy torturing myself just to read more Kenji interactions, and I need to see this through to the end.

Wowwww okay now I understand all the hype. It's been good before but this was definitely the best one so far. The plot was plotting, characters are developing, emotions are escalating. Finallyyy Juliette - or should I say Ella - is being a baddie and omg I love Aaron so much. The amount of plot twists nearly gave me whiplash. It makes all sense now. The first half was devastating but now we got hope, so much hope.
