Would’ve been four stars but there’s no way in hell two lawyers wouldn’t have advanced directives!

Kelly McCann is a very successful attorney. After her most recent case defending an accused rapist, George Benedict, which she won, she is raped herself. Now, she is out for revenge. She wants to get back at George for the rape, but as she tries, people in her circle are dying. Is he onto her, and eliminating anyone that could finger him for his misdeeds?
An interesting look at the Me Too movement, the Believe Women charge - and what happens if it is you that is affected? A look at social media, at knowing when to fight back, and knowing when to let go. I enjoyed it.

Solid thriller about Kelly, a successful defense lawyer who defends powerful men accused of sex crimes. After she is sexually assaulted, Kelly decides to join forces with some of the victims of her attacker and take down the man who assaulted them. Then someone starts to come after the group one by one. This is a fast paced, solid mystery.

The Cage was a favorite of mine last year and I was so excited to get an ARC of this one. This was such a good but upsetting book. I loved how strong the women in this were. Kistler was able to write about some serious topics well and made all the characters feel real. The ending totally shocked me! This is definitely one I will be thinking about for a while.

This book had me gripped from the very beginning. The premise was fascinating — an attorney used to defending powerful men accused of heinous assaults is assaulted herself. How will she get him back? The twists and turns Kistler takes readers on in this thriller is amazing. I was kept guessing, and that’s rare in the thriller world these days.

The premise was interesting but the delivery was disappointing. This is a fast-paced thriller I read it in one day.

TW: sexual assault, rape.

This book was difficult to read. Kelly is a high profile defense attorney for a rapist. She knows he is, but defends him anyway. On the eve of the big win in court, he rapes her too. The book takes a journey of how she deals with it, her plan to take him down, and keep living her life.

I don’t really have words to describe this book. It was interesting, scary, and gross all at once. There’s a lot to unpack here. I didn’t love it and wouldn’t read it again, but I also am glad I did pick it up and read it. It does have a pretty neatly tied up ending as well.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
