What a ride!
Alright, the book is definitely not perfect. Most of the characters are not well-developed at all. The only one who is is the main character. But WOW is she fascinating! For the whole book I couldn’t wait to find out more, and at the end I wished there was a sequel so I could find out even more. I still have so many questions!
The book is set in the 50s, but frankly it does not read way. It all sounds very modern, with only occasional references to things like segregation. But honestly, even those don’t really carry weight? I’m supposed to believe a telepathic alien who lives in a government facility has NEVER heard of segregation? Mm.
The finale of the book is quick, but intense, and super creepy. And again, left me wanting more! What are the odds of a sequel? I don’t know. I guess I can dream
