This book is the perfect beach or pool read. If you love adventures and romance or you’ve ever had a broken heart and wondered how it might heal, Float Plan is the book for you! It takes you on a journey that we can all relate to - how to move on during tragedy. I had no idea what to expect and I was pleasantly surprised at how much I loved this book.

This completes Read Around the World: Book Voyage Reading Challenge, April's Books Set on an Island read. I'm so glad I read this book. What a nice change from the other books I have read. Not only was it just a bit shorter, but it was just fun.
It does start with a suicide like right off the bat, which I liked in the book. There was no monkeying around. Get to the hard stuff first and then float through the rest. I love the way the author weaved the aspects of grief and meeting a new potential love/friends/life. It's hard to distinguish what is right, what is too soon, or what is a façade of how you feel in that moment based on your grief feelings. Even after a divorce, you experience these things like meeting a new love and not knowing if it's too soon or if you should go for it anyways. I loved that in this book. I also loved that the book wasn't about two people having anger or mild hatred (which is really sexual tension) in the beginning like every other Hallmark movie and romantic book. They are friends and like each other and they may or may not get together; you will have to read the book and you really won't know to the last couple of pages. I also loved that this book wasn't about her hooking up with a bunch of guys to get over her grief. It started to head that way, but then it didn't. And of course I loved Queenie. My only issue was that the ending was too rushed and I wanted it longer.
Be forewarned, this book will make you want to buy a sailboat and sail around the Caribbean (my husband was not totally in favor of this since we have only taken one sailing lesson and I'm still with a hurt leg). In fact, this year's book challenge has made me want to do something in almost every book. I have wanted to travel to Antarctica and see penguins, get on a train to Portugal and wear fancy glasses and hang out in bookstores/learn Portuguese, work on dictionaries, and now sail from the Caribbean to the UK. I still got Australia and Singapore coming up.

Super sweet… I loved the representation of love after the death of a partner. My mom having gone through it twice, I feel new insight into that struggle. I loved the setting of the book being on the open seas, and I also enjoy how this author tends to allow the female lead time to determine that she is an individual regardless of a man, and that win for independence in a relationship is soothing to witness.

Such a touching, beautiful and heartfelt story, I loved every minute of reading it! I will be reading the other books in this series for sure! This is such an easy 5 stars to give!❤

I loved this, I wish it was a bit longer but that’s my only critique (other than that sometimes I was like do Irish people actually talk like this?? But who am I know)
This is a love story but it’s also a story about choosing yourself and learning to grow around what loss has shaped for you. definitely going to pick up the authors other book about her sister.
