This fiction novel isn’t far from reality, but surely falls flat when executing the concept. Layla, despite being the revolutionary character, is so unlikable. The immature writing narrated a melodrama rather than a revolution.

My muslim self cringed every time she risked her life for a make out session with her jewish boyfriend.

What could be a powerful message, was hidden under Twilight-level writing.

Wow, this book was amazing. I absolutely enjoyed this read, although it was hard to get through at times. When the book was written, I can definitely see how it felt like Muslim internment camps were around the corner for how America was going. This was an excellent read that was incredibly tough to get through at times.
