Normally, I think I'd give this a 4.25-.5, but I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. That makes it a 5.

HEA
He falls first
No third act break up (just a sweet come to realize she doesn’t want to give him up moment)

A cute caring, gentle and so loveable cowboy and a black cat emotionally traumatised interior designer who get a sweet happily ever after. Lyla sage always writes such sweet, heartwarming, caring and just genuinely good romances. I always know I will get good characters, good story and lots of sweet kick your feet moments.

Only complaint
you are telling me we only get a couple sentences about the baby blue reveal? I wanted more Amos reaction moments but I get why she only did a little section.

Okay, I'm not a cowboy/country person in any way, but I FUCKING LOVE THIS BOOK. It's the best romance I've read in ages. This is the standard contemporary romances should be held to. Good mental health rep, GOOD MEN, a woman learning that allowing love/friends/family to be a part of her life is an amazing thing, grumpy (her)/sunshine (him), quality communication, and more.

Warning: you may stan hot cowboys after reading this book. (We still don't like country music, though.)

I liked this one better than Done and Dusted! Lyla Sage did a great job writing complex and relatable characters. Ada and Wes are great characters separately, but even better together!

Perfect sequel to Done and Dusted! Better than DND if I may say.

I loved Ada and Wes so much that I read this book in a week!
Audiobook was stunning and I fell in love even more with the town of Meadowlark.

Ada is a big city gal looking for her big break to do more work in her field of interior design and working on a huge project for the Rebel Blue Ranch is the perfect opportunity to flex more of her talent. Only true obstacle  is she didn't think  her boss to be the charming cowboy she just meet in the local bar and can't stop day dreaming about.
Wes Ryder is the middle Ryder and has spent his entire life looking for his place in the families legacy, he decides that blazing his own path is the only way to do it which means no getting distracted by his heart or the painfully familiar tug Ada seems to have on it.

I think the character were even more fleshed out and brought to life in this book. I related to Ada so much I found myself annotating and crying at times.
Also Wes's relationship with his depression and how he treats and talks about it was BEAUTIFUL.

Tropes:
Small town
forced proximity
work place-ish romance
Big city girl small town boy
Black cat/ golden retriever
Anxiety rep
Depression rep

This is a 10/10 in my book

Listen, Luke was great and all, but Wes is the blueprint. I loved him!!! He was so kind and considerate and understanding and I was obsessed. And of course I loved Ada. Ya’ll I legit had tears multiple times during this book. This cowboy romance was the cowboy romance for me 🤠✨

Favorite Quotes:

"I see you, Ada. I always see you, even when you won't look at me.”

"Wes said Meadowlark was known for the pie, but maybe it should be known for the fresh starts,"

"You say you're not nice, or warm, or bright or any of these other stupid fucking words that people use to describe the sun, but I never asked you to be the sun." "I would rather have the moon anyway."

"You're the moon," he said. "And I'm the tides. You pull me in without even trying, and I come to you willingly. I always will."
