I will say, I was surprised to enjoy the first book so I got the second. I realized that I was very caught up in the world of these characters. The spice level isn’t as high as the first book and this is definitely a slow burn. I do however, love the underlying message of Ada and Wes. I relate and that made me enjoy the second half. We all want to be able to stand on our own two feet, as someone who was divorced and found love again I can understand Ada’s headspace. The candid conversation about Wes’ mental health struggles was done tastefully and not in a way that glossed over them or glamorized them either. I respect the love story and think it’s sweet for the hopeless romantic.

I enjoyed this second installment of the Rebal Blue series so much more than the first! I connected much more to Ada and Wes as characters and found myself rooting for their romance the whole time! I was also impressed with the ways the author subverted some of the typical romance tropes that never feel necessary to me and she did it by having the characters stay true to themselves! Bonus, I also enjoyed the spicy scenes which was not true of the first book. So glad I chose to continue the series 😁😍
