I was on a fantasy binge, reading one epic after another and desperately needed a palate cleanser. That’s when Libby’s hold came through. This book was exactly what I needed: one of those “right book at the right time” moments. I’ve never watched Sleepless in Seattle, so the story felt fresh and original to me. The pacing was excellent; I flew through the first hundred pages without realizing how much time had passed.

Both Lucie and Aiden are written with such depth. Their actions and decisions felt grounded and mature. Aiden is protective, but within respectful limits, he knows where the line is and doesn’t cross it. I absolutely adored his little inner monologues about Lucie. Also, him constantly forgetting the names of Lucie’s potential dates had me rolling on the floor. Aiden’s past experiences hindering his present felt very valid to me rather than immature and Lucie was just the right girl for whom he overcame those fears. Lucie, on the other hand, is unapologetically strong in love. She’s not scared to hope for something magical. I kept bracing myself for the dreaded miscommunication trope, but to my relief, they always talked things out. The communication in this book is top tier. Lucie is smart and persistent; she doesn’t spiral into assumptions or mental scenarios, she acts. The side characters are an absolute delight! They add so much charm to the story. Maya and Grayson are downright adorable and Jackson’s goofy character has me genuinely excited to read more about him in the next installment.

I followed along with the audiobook while reading the e-book and I truly think it elevated the experience. The narrators did an incredible job bringing Lucie and Aiden to life, their performances matched both the characters’ personalities and their ages. The chemistry between the narrators was palpable; they absolutely understood the assignment. The radio show transcripts in the book actually sound like a real broadcast.
