This probably is the only book this far from the Word Games list that I enjoyed a bit, others were just plain gibberish all the way through. The story was captivating and interesting ans very well written. And it is no secret that human trafficking is still a great problem worldwide.

This book was a quick read. Storyline was to the point without a lot of detail. Interesting subject to bring attention to the horrifying circumstances of growing up women in the mountains of rural Mexico.
Sometimes a quick read will get you together better than a long one. What I loved about this book is how it transported you so deeply into the diverse and protective relationships between these girls in their women led village. From mother to daughter, best friends to classmates, sisters to half sisters, and the relationships and bonds developed overtime in the most unlikely of places. How from a young age, they were taught to hide the very part of themselves that keeps them connected, but also puts them in danger.
I found this book easy to follow and even easier to put myself into. The sad and harsh reality of young girls growing up in unsafe environments at the hands of drugs, violence, and trafficking and the communities that create systems to protect them. It does take a village.
