There's a lot of speculation in this. In the case of Alice Kyteler in particular there's no proof she ever killed anyone. Several of the women didn't work alone but Telfer attributes all the murders to them when, again, there's no proof.
For several of the murdresses I can just Google female serial killers and get more information than Telfer provides and frequently better writing. There's nothing on the Benders that I can't learn from Wikipedia and it has more detail and less of an obsession with how attractive Kate was.
If you want an in depth look at which murdresses were the prettiest then this is the book for you. If you want actual facts then there are plenty of online articles and probably many better written books.

What a wild, worldwide tour this was! A super entertaining, informative, varied, and shocking overview of a group of lady serial killers throughout history. And we're really talking about 'throughout' here, as we went from the 14th century to more recent times. I also enjoyed getting a glimpse into criminal proceedings from all these different times and places.

The narrative voice Tori Telfer employed was engaging and also injected some humour, but sometimes the occasional levity of it did make me take pause and be like: wait, this really happened? It was almost narrated too 'plainly' at times, if that makes any sense...

This isn't to say that Tori wasn't taking the stories seriously or disrespecting the victims. Far from it. In fact, I really appreciated the discussion around the perceptions and double standards surrounding criminals who are women.

Wish there had been more variety it was mostly poisonings with arsenic so some of the stories faded away in my head

Glad that this book didn't perpetuate the glorification of serial killers and did act like these women were girlbosses when for real they were murderers

Listened on audiobook. The audiobook read like a podcast, and I enjoyed the storytelling and format! My biggest gap with the book was lack of potential psychological analysis or any more recent stories.
