Nancy really girlbossed her way though this entire story and I love that for her!

I always found this one a little confusing, but I'm not sure why. The mystery was so-so.

These books were my childhood so it was fun to revel in the nostalgia

The melodrama heats up some more in this book and the plotlines start getting recycled — I don't know how that's possible four books into a series, but apparently it is. In one mystery, Nancy's friend Emily is living in a haunted inn (see The Hidden Staircase) which is of course not really haunted but which is having bad things happen to it for not really a very good reason in the end.

This one was a bit over the top, but still a fun way to spend a couple hours. Nancy gets up to quite a lot in this installment, and while the writing is still simple, I did feel like the mystery itself was well-plotted and creative. I'm excited to continue my reread of this series!

This mystery got a little convoluted (and involved way too many people), so it wasn't my favorite. Although the title (Lilac Inn) sounds so appealing! Although, it was fun trying to fit all of the many many moving pieces together.

This installment’s mystery was a bit more intricate and involved than the first three, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. As usual, Nancy tactfully uncoils the mystery while narrowly escaping mortal danger. In this episode, she is almost impaled with a spear...and then someone bombs her cottage. It’s a wonder Carson lets her out of the house!

- This book was really fun! It had a lot more dangers in it that the previous books.

- Nancy is the victim of identity theft, but as the story continues Nancy find out she has a doppelganger out there!

- Nancy's life is constantly in danger in this story. There are people out there trying to kill her! She gets a spear thrown at her, she gets run off the road, she gets a rock thrown at her head, and more!

- I really like Nancy's relationship with her father. They are close and can openly talk with each other. I love that they trust each other implicitly.

- The story and mystery are more complicated than the previous ones. I really feel like this book stepped it up a notch.
