I love Tom Allen, I think he’s hilarious! I also love having queer voices out there in the mainstream, and this story is so important. That being said it felt like it was written like a stand up routine and not a typical autobiography with loads of periods skimmed over. There was a lot of emphasis on childhood and school then it all started skipping so quickly. It was an easy, quick, enjoyable read but I just wanted more from him.

i've only really seen tom allen on "bake off: an extra slice" and it was great to get more of an insight into his life with this book. i loved how british it was, and i really related to his queer coming of age experiences, especially feeling too old for his peers until it came to actually experiencing relationships and heartbreak later, also the chapter about driving was very relatable.

Just what you’d expect from Tom Allen’s memoirs, witty and charming, with a touch of tenderness. Although I read the physical copy, I could hear Tom’s voice reading the whole book
