Told with Allen's familiar comic timing and style - complete with a few terrible Dad jokes in there that'll make you laugh and groan simultaneously - this memoir tells some of the hilarious incidents from his childhood as well as some very thoughtful and profound ruminations on shame and 'otherness', particularly in his grappling with sexuality. Nevertheless, it's an excellent memoir - devour this one via audiobook for the full Tom Allen experience.
