I had no intentions of reading this script. Watch the movie, what's the point, right? But I ended up in the bookstore and the person who was with me just shoved it into my hands...and well, I couldn't say no.
It should be read- it has JK Rowling's magic all over it.
There's just the name of a few creatures could've been better and didn't really fit into the rest of the Harry Potter world. For example : Obscurus and Swooping Evil ....really? That's the sort of names you give when you don't have a clue what to name them- but you were supposed to go back and fixed them up!! I just kept thinking of cameras and a black blob of gas....not really what I wanted to see.
There's also the whole point that these two creatures never show up in the Hogwarts trio time and it felt a bit too disconnected. Other than that I loved it and now cannot wait to see it!!
Those are the reasons for 3 stars on not 5.

Like everyone of my generation, I am shaped as a reader by the Harry Potter universe and the writing of J K Rowling. Therefore when I heard a new film series was coming out, based on Rowling's charity version of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, I was thrilled. After watching the film and reading the screenplay, I'm still hopelessly and un-apologetically in love with the Wizarding World.
The film, and this accompanying screenplay, do not disappoint in giving the reader a new face to the world we know. A 1900's setting is genius - the glamour oozes through the pages. I liked Newt as a hero, and found Tina an acceptable foil, but my real obsessions were definitely Jacob (an American NoMaj instead of an English Muggle) and Queenie (Tina's Legilimens sister). Believe me, just watch / read the scene in the rain and tell me you didn't feel something...well, magical.
Fantastic Beasts is less about spells than it is about creatures and every reader / viewer would do well to remember this. If you're looking to see duel upon duel you've come to the wrong place. Newt's strength is his (unusual, for the time) love of the magical creatures he fosters. His adoration of them is infectious and it becomes a pleasure to learn about their differing traits.
This is, in all, a charming read for Harry Potter fans. If you go in with an open mind, the magic of the Wizarding World will rush in to fill the space.

Then comes the magical peta leader, NEWT SCAMANDER!

I swear if I wasn't a Slytherine & born in 10's I wouldlove to date him. whom I kidding, no matter what which house I belong, I would definitely date him.
and his magical case.....that's all everybody wants to own I'm telling you

It has disguising power!

American calls non magical person 'non-maj', not muggle !!!

that's....that's the reason why I had a thing for British men!
creature rescued themselves from the PETA zoo and things went crazy

and I'm not gonna say further because things went real crazy

and people must watch the movie too to know the rest and of course read the book.
wait... I want a Niffler to pet ...It's creature who always attracted to wealth, money and jewels and steal them and hide them in it's pouch and it's so cuteeeeee!!!!

wht I'm gonna do it with it? well..after a long tiring day when the niffy came back to me, I'll feed him, give him a shower and.....

don't judge me....I have some expense too okay!! I need money too!
The books spoke our heart's desire out!!! so yeah loving this book is a compulsory for a potterhead.

“Mary Lou: ‘Are you a seeker? A seeker after truth?’
Newt: ‘I'm more of a chaser, really’.”

I loved it. I relived the entire movie in the confinements of my own bedroom. Amazing.

I really liked the book. I got the feeling that I got to understand the story better by the discription of the little details.
4.5 stars.
This book is a quick but enjoyable read. My only criticism is that I was never eager to pick it up. It didn't add anything to the film but I noticed something that I didn't notice in the film.
I'm still looking forward to what the next film has in store.
