I absolutely loved this!!! The movie was just so good! I loved the characters and just the overall feel of the movie/script. J.K Rowling did an amazing job as this is her first screenplay. I am super excited to see more from this world. I don't have anything negative to say about this. I love it

I've had this on my shelf for a very long time and I never read it because I dont like screenplay writing but I felt sick and just wanted to curl up and read a couple short books today to get some out of the way. I don't really know how I feel about this book. I like the plot but I found myself skipping over a lot of the screen directions. None the less I love harry potter and I'm glad I could get this book under my belt.

It's interesting to read a screenplay after watching the associated film. It's all in there, of course, but you still find yourself wanting more. If only there were a... BOOK!

Constantly amazed at the genius that is Jo.

As an avid fan of Harry Potter, I loved revisiting the wizarding world. I thought the story line was fascinating and the characters all had depth. I loved Newt and his creatures, Tina and her devotion, Queenie and her charm, and Jacob, for his lovable personality. I thought the conflict and plot twists were well-written and really drew me in as a reader. It left you guessing, and it wrapped everything up at the end.

Now I need to go watch the movie!!

I was a little leery of reading this after reading [b:Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two|29056083|Harry Potter and the Cursed Child - Parts One and Two (Harry Potter, #8)|John Tiffany|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1470082995s/29056083.jpg|48765776], which was a total letdown for me. However, since J.K. Rowling actually wrote this screenplay herself (which wasn't the case with Cursed Child), I thought it was worth a try.

Fantastic Beasts is just the screenplay, so don't expect any accompanying bells and whistles. It's simple and absolutely wonderful. I haven't seen the movie yet, so it will be fun to see the human and beast characters come to life on screen. J.K. Rowling is finally back to her HP glory days with this story. It isn't as complex as the core HP books, but it isn't supposed to be since it's a completely different format.

I actually read this book along side [b:Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them|41899|Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them|J.K. Rowling|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1303738520s/41899.jpg|4195128], which was fun. There is only one beast that makes an appearance in the screenplay that I couldn't find in the original Fantastic Beasts: the Swooping Evil. A new edition of Fantastic Beasts is set to be released this spring, so it will be interesting to see if the Swooping Evil is included in the new edition.

On a purely aesthetic note, this is a beautiful book! It's top-notch even without the jacket. There are small stylized drawings of creatures throughout the screenplay which adds a little extra whimsy and charm throughout. I'll be happy to have this one on my bookshelf.

The main reason why I'm giving this script a high rating is because I absolutely loved the film: magical, funny, quirky and with a Hufflepuff hero (and an adorably awkward one at that), this movie was great! I'd recommend people reading this after having seen the movie. Many new creatures are introduced, as well as new kinds of magic. In the movie, these introductions - I felt - were often quite "rushed" and the script helped clarify some issues or questions I had while watching the movie.
I favour this plot over "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" for the reason that there was no messy magic happening in this film/screenplay. Well, at least not as far as I'm aware of. There was no shady, dubious time travel build up of mishaps. And considering the fact that this film/screenplay revolves around mostly new(t) - sorry couldn't resist - characters, inconsistent characterisation is not an issue.

All in all, I loved this tale. It was a wonderful reintroduction to the magical world I truly adore.
The sole reason why this screenplay does not get 5 stars, is because of the ridiculous term "No-Maj". "No-thank you", I'll stick with Muggle, thanks, but no thanks.

Cant say a lot because i watched the movie before reading the play.
