This is beautiful. It is one of those pieces that sounds beautiful to listen to on an audiobook doing a mindless repetitive task. She was a beautiful poet.

i don't totally understand her writing, but she is able to rhyme eloquently, which blows my mind.

I have wanted to read poems by Emily Dickinson since I finished Ariel by Sylvia Plath and loved it with all my heart. However, I felt intimidated, and let me be honest, there were many times when I was left clueless after reading some poems from this collection as I could not articulate the deeper meaning and metaphor behind them. But I decided to just read them and have fun rather than trying to dissect them like I am writing a paper on Dickinson. After that, it was a better journey, and I loved every second of my reading. I took time to read and finish it slowly. I am already feeling sentimental, thinking I could never have the first-time experience of reading it again.
If I start including every poem I liked from this collection, this review will be long, and I don't want to make it a hurdle for anyone to read. So, I will include one of the few that captured my attention the most and made me love it more than the others.
“I had no time to hate, because
The grave would hinder me,
And life was not so ample I
Could finish enmity.
Nor had I time to love; but since
Some industry must be,
The little toil of love, I thought,
Was large enough for me”.
What can I say? It's Emily Dickinson. It's poetry. It's about nature, love, life, death, everything that consumes me whole and indulges the endless hope, joy, and sadness in me. And I loved every bit of this poetry collection.
This book reminded me of the power of poems and how they can affect and influence life tremendously, even without the reader realizing it. Highly recommend it, of course!

This was interesting to read because I've never read much of Emily Dickinson before and I wanted to become more familiar which such foundational work. I enjoyed many of these and thought they were absolutely beautiful and thought provoking! Of course, that is what I expected. I love the way she speaks about nature and the emotion she packs into her words.

not sure if this is the best collection of emily's poems but it's the one i have so its the one that's been with me over the years. i really love how the poetry is separated by themes here. like any collection some poems leave me in awe and some don't do much, but they're all blooming with emily's vision nonetheless.
