Poetry that makes you think. Such a rarity these days and in the past. For instance Walt Whitman and Leaves of Grass. Pure jingoistic clap trap. One feels he/she is on the side lines of a football game. Dickenson, thought provoking poetry about life, New England, sexuality, and near the end of her life, death. You have to think after reading 20 pages or so. Think and digest the words. If you have read my reviews you know I'm a Russophile. Dickenson is as good as Pushkin. I would say she is the American Pushkin.

They make me regret I am not a Bee –

I'd like to buy as many lottery tickets for Emily Dickinson's soul as possible. Why? For the wild nights of course.
