Gorgeous prose that doesn't collapse under its own weight.
Excellent use of silence/blank space
I often get tired of format swapping, but this moves between narrative prose and play scenes and does it to *fantastic* effect.

Main characters encounter peril but do not perish.

Weird premise, beautifully told.

Wanted to DNF many times… this book is not for me. I felt no connection to the characters and I was struggling to find a point to continue, felt really boring. Also the writing had an odd flow and the section split felt so dumb (I’m sorry for those who loved this).   The Marcos section was also a jarring turn compared to the rest of the book.

Set in multiple distinct parts, this book explores the many facets of relationships; how they can begin, how they endure, and how they (sometimes) end. 

Shark Heart is inspiring, uplifting, and tragic.
