I haven’t read much in the fantasy genre but I couldn’t put this one down. I loved it, despite being skeptical going in. Didn’t love the audiobook narrator, and it was pretty clear what was happening fairly early on, but that didn’t stop me from enjoying the book. As for the writing, occasionally a word choice feels out of place or not quite right, and it can be a bit distracting.

I’m going to keep reading this series. It’s pretty good. Not amazing but good. Feels like a mash up of several other popular book series which makes it pretty predictable so far. Hoping they have some unexpected twists in the future.

reads a little too simple (like YA) to be adult fantasy / romantasy but the premise def has me hooked!
Think of every fantasy book by female authors you know. Merge the story in the worst possible way and you get this book.

so good, i will definitely be reading the next in the series, it is so well written and while has inspiration from other books u can’t tell unless u really look and it is on its own a completely unique concept and outcome. i really enjoyed reading this and the characters had a good amount of depth
this was my most anticipated release of 2022 and now that i finally read it i can confirm that i am OBSESSED
