I enjoyed this overall, the last part raising my score for it. While our protagonists are a but loathsome, there is a charm to them that kept me reading, and the overarching idea
that no matter what choices he made, the core ones would remain meant the payoff worked

I started reading this because it was described as similar to the "Midnight Library" which I really enjoyed, but it was not the same at all. I could not listen to 3 more retellings of why this idiot dude messed up his "ideal college life" while also not doing anything to improve it. Typical pick-me dude.

This is the first time in a while that I had to stop reading a book. This reminds me of Catcher in the Rye. I hate Catcher in the Rye. The tone of the characters are terribly annoying, the MC thinks themself better than everyone else and yet believes that they're doing poorly in life because they just don't care/the world is against them. It reads incel-y and I don't feel like wasting time
