Absolutely incredible, and the anime series by Masaki Yuasa is equally as fantastic. Throughout the chapters, the reader quickly becomes acquainted with the protagonist's quest for the "rose-colored campus life", and his various friends/enemies he encounters. I won't say too much more (to avoid spoilers), but I strongly recommend this book for anyone. The prose builds a perfect picture of the world in one's mind, and it's succinct yet beautifully descriptive.

I came to this book with expectations of what we've come to expect of multiverse media in the 2020s: space travel, universes with their own laws, the butterfly effect etc. However Tomihiko Morimi flat out didn't meet these expectations, in the best way. I guess that expecting less and enjoying the experience is my lesson learned.
It was rather profound to read a story where every decision didn't set the protagonist on an entirely different path, and to realise this at the same time he did was a joy. Did I like this character? Not one bit. But it was a nice change of pace that he was so consistent and made the same bad decisions as every version of himself.
This book makes me think of the saying "don't sweat the small stuff".

Could not connect with the main character, don't know if it's bad translation or maybe I just didn't get far enough but he's such an ass
