Update: turns out the directing of The Tatami Galaxy (the animation series) has played a part in fleshing out the original material and refining its pacing to a fairly large degree.

I've watched The Tatami Galaxy a few years back. Now that I get to read the original source, I want to see how the narrating style differs to or (even better if) complements its animation counterpart.

This was an incredibly inventive story! I like that the main character gets to experience several different timelines - and that you see a character arc in every one. Not really my cup of tea but well written & well translated.
