Ghost story set in the world of American Gods. Short, but I enjoyed it very much. I particularly liked the interplay between depression and possession, contributing to the negative actions, also the revenge of the disrespected cats.

It's the Witcher/American Gods crossover you didn't know you wanted
Black Dog is yet another chapter in the continuing saga of Shadow Moon, a man with a very strange name that people don't question enough. When we last left Shadow at the end of The Monarch of the Glen, he was about to spend a few more weeks in the UK before returning home. We catch up with him now in England, where he gets tied up in yet more god shenanigans, this time with Moira and Oliver Bierce, a couple haunted by the titular black dog
I actually enjoyed this story more than I enjoyed Monarch of the Glen. While Monarch was basically a condensed form of American Gods the novel, even repeating some aspects of that book, Black Dog tells a different sort of story set in the same universe. It's a short full of twists and mixes up the mythologies of lots of different religions into something that's really entertaining to read. It's the shortest Shadow book as well, though it doesn't feel like it ends too soon
Daniel Egneus' illustrations get another thumbs up from me. I'm actually of the mind that his illustrations for Black Dog were better than Monarch, though it's not a huge difference
And thanks again to Headline for including a bookmark in a book with like 50 pages or less of text (minus the illustrations, of course)
So it seems that this is the end of our journey with Shadow. That's a shame, I was actually enjoying the misadventures he was getting into. He doesn't talk much, but cool stuff just keeps happening around him. Hey, maybe Gaiman will revisit this character and this world once American Gods the TV show finally gets aborted (*sniff*)
