Premise too far fetched/don’t care about these characters/don’t see the chemistry between the FMC and romance interest/life is too short

Really good coming into your own story. Liked that the subplots didn't drag on, and loved the fun animal facts and great footnotes throughout!

I liked this one! I enjoyed the characters and Christa was very relatable. I enjoy Abbi’s ability to write a story like the character is talking directly to the reader. She writes very conversationally or like you are reading the character’s journal. I thought the storyline was a little far fetched, but it was creative. I went in knowing there were going to be open door moments, so I just skipped those. Some of the more obvious innuendos that were thrown in were awkward, but that comes with romance if you aren’t specially reading a closed door book so I can’t complain about that. I thought the ending was well written and I liked the way they brought the family back together.

At the heart of this book, there's a love story, which I love. But the trappings are very different. A young woman, Christa, has run away to study sea snails. She is a marine biologist. She is the daughter of famous parents. Her dad was the charming and charismatic star of a wild animal show. He was presumed dead 25 years ago, when Christa was only 5 years old. Her mom took over the Foundation that raised money for ecology, wildlife, animals of all kinds. She was famous in her own right. She moved on, raised her three daughter and found and married the love of her life. Then all of a sudden Christa's dad has surfaced again and is coming home. What a media circus, what anger and unresolved feelings,! Out of all this confusion. Christa reunites with a family friend and sparks fly. It was funny, laugh out loud in some spots and had a satisfying ending. Very fun!!
