I was highly entertained by Waxman's first few, feel good books, but the last couple have been painfully unenjoyable. Fool me once, shame on you... But I have to take responsibility for finishing this one when I was put off from the jump. I have been in a reading slump lately and "dnf" the last handful of books I started, so I was determined to break the streak... but this was not the right one to stick with to the end.

Strange concept, boring from start to finish, cringey characters... I'm still not entirely sure what the plot or point of this was other than to put me to sleep. I think I'm going to hold off on future attempts from this author unless I hear good things

What I liked: extremely fun and funny writing style, thought-provoking premise.

What I didn’t like:
The romance just didn’t land for me at all. I’m a romance reader and yet I found myself skimming to love scenes, and was like 70% of the way into the book when I stopped think that surely there’s be a twist and she would end up with a different character (or no one at all).
