This still stands up as a solid story. There were parts of the story that just didn't make sense like his want to get home to see his wife but then stayed on an island for a year with his men and Cercie so he didn't come off as rude. Also he committed mass murder of the suitors. Which is fine, just not very becoming of the "hero".

Ughhhh... so long!!! I mean, if the bard who sang the book had to memorize so much, wouldn't it just be easier to make it shorter??

Overall, this book was enjoyable. It was less dense than I was expecting. My lack of knowledge about the lore meant that I went into this story mostly clueless. I appreciated that we got to see Odysseus in many stages of his journey, in several mental states, and in the splendor he was known for. While I doubt I will reread this book, I am glad to have read it.
