Ok first of all the audio was great. I think that the narrator was cast spot on. The difference between all the characters voices was great and I was never confused by who was talking. Overall I enjoy this part of the book quite a bit.
Now for the plot , this is definitely a book for twilight fans. It gives a air to it but better . I love that plot is following werewolf's and not necessarily vampires. I feel based that is very teen coded is well done. I would have like the man character to be a little be less oblivious about everything or quicker to realize things but it doesn’t take away from the enjoyment. The plots and twist very well done and the ending wow. Definitely left me wanting to know more. Definitely will be recommending.

Exactly the kind of paranormal YA that reminds me why the genre is so addictive. It carries that familiar Twilight / Vampire Diaries energy. Small town, mysterious boy, supernatural legacy, while also carving out its own identity with a diverse cast and a romance that feels both sweet and mysterious.
Mira makes for a relatable protagonist, caught between family secrets and first-year college growing pains, and I loved how Britney S. Lewis balances the everyday with the otherworldly. The drama is a little over the top at times, but honestly, that’s part of the fun. It’s youthful, messy, and exactly what I expect from a college-aged YA paranormal romance.
The romance worked well for me, especially the push-and-pull between Mira and Julian. And while I occasionally rolled my eyes at their dramatics and dialogue, I was entertained the whole time and fully invested in where their story would go. Add in the werewolf/vampire lore, a good twisty cliffhanger, and a promise of more answers in the next installment, and I had a great time.
This isn’t the kind of book that will crush you with darkness or complexity. It’s fun, fast-paced, and perfect for when you need an entertaining escape between heavier reads. A fresh take on the werewolf love story.
Thanks so much to Toppling Stacks Book Tours and the author for the complimentary ebook. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

i received a digital review copy from the publisher via netgalley. i am leaving this review voluntarily.
growing up in timber plains, kansas, mira always heard stories of werewolves and vampires. stories that mira stopped believing in at the same time she stopped believing her mom would come back. now, she’s a freshman at lakeland university, she’s forced to confront both of these when a strange classmate impossibly saves her from an attack and when she receives a mysterious letter from her mom saying she’s in danger. when a blood moon rises, she soon finds herself in the middle of an ancient, magical war.
i loved britney s. lewis’s previous two books, and i love paranormal creatures (like the vampires and werewolves in this book), so i was really excited to start this! this book was marketed as “the vampire diaries meets twilight,” and i definitely could see the inspirations, especially with twilight (there was a certain forest scene that felt veryyyy familiar…). luckily, this book was MUCH better than both of those series. i loved the romance in this. it was supposed to be a love triangle—even in the book itself, the term “love triangle” was used several times—but the focus was clearly on julian, mira’s strange classmate mentioned earlier. he was such an interesting love interest, and i liked seeing how their relationship unfolded. they, and the plot itself, left off in SUCH a gripping way. i need book two ASAP!!

I was waiting for this book to come out for so long and it didn’t disappoint me. Just finished Blood Moon last night and loved it. It’s giving all the nostalgia of 2000’s vampire movies and tv shows but better.
Bottom of page 356 is interesting. I have some thoughts about this but won’t spoil it. I have questions that can only be answered in next book 2.
Great debut novel by Britney S. Lewis.
