“i have been in love with no one, and never shall, unless it should be with you.”

(this makes it sound like a romance book. don’t go into this thinking it’s main theme is romantic in any way lol)

this book was a great read, plus it was short, so it can be given a chance very easily (though i wish the book was longer — that’s actually my only gripe).

i loved how concise and straightforward the execution of the plot is — especially in comparison to dracula, the book inspired by this. in addition to this, the scenery and characters have enthralling descriptions.

an enchanting read, and worth the few hours of investment.

The plot is not at all surprising, given this is a genre defining classic, but the tension and almost overt sapphic tones are timelessly engaging.

i listened to the audio drama for this which was great but i felt like i had to rate the plot separate from the acting cuz the drama audio was just sooooo good, the plot however felt basic but what can you do when a classic is only 100 pages lol
