I’ve never had a novel hook me from the first couple paragraphs but Paris certainly did a number on me with this one. The interweaving of Past and Present was seamless and well-integrated where generally I’m not a fan of this type of writing.
I just couldn’t set this book down. I absolutely had to know what was going to happen with that said, it just didn’t finish in the same excited sense that it rolled me up in at the beginning. Maybe it was the circumstances of when and where I finished the book or my mood, but it left me feeling slightly lack luster.

Honestly I just got bogged down in this book by the three books in one type scenario. You had the before/present and then after and I felt like it was too much to keep up with. I got the point but felt like the ending just wasn't worth all the effort. I thought there would be some huge twist because I had figured out one of the twists so I thought there would be something bigger and then there wasn't. Ending just fell flat for me andddd I felt like with the book being sooo intricate that the ending should have been also. It wasn't, for me.
Pros about this book: The writing is fantastic, I enjoy how this author weaves a story in the sense that it's not what you'd expect unless you've read some of her other books. If this is the first book you've read of this author you may enjoy it more than I did. She has a way of telling a story and catching you off guard. This is an author I'll always check out, I enjoyed Behind Closed Doors and The Breakdown SO much so all is not lost. I didn't hate this book at all, I read it in just over a day, I just wasn't crazy about it and felt like it was overwhelming with no tied up ending.

A stranger follows you home, look at you eyes to eyes when the door closing and instead of feeling creepy, you offer her a nice room in your house, and treats her like a life savior? Even PAY her? I’m sorry but it’s quite far-fetched and culture shock for me. I stopped at chapter 16 and took a little excursion to the ending just to find out that I was right to stop.

It was okay, went by quickly, almost too quickly with the most short chapters I've seen in a while (expect to flip the page OFTEN). I'm not sure I would run to read the author's next book, but it wasn't awful.
