This one had some really neat mixed media artwork and some great poems. Learned about dinosaurs I have never heard of. Read for my grad school class of Lit & Resources for Children.

This book is wonderful! Dinosaurs receive poetic treatment. Each 2 page spread includes a short poem, most on a single dinosaur. The mixed media illustrations cover the pages, creatively connected the poem. Readers won't be able to cite this for their dinosaur report, but they will enjoy the wordplay and visuals. Includes table of contents, pronunciation guide, glossary, list of dinosaur museums and fossil sites, and bibliography.

Nice bilingual nonfiction. The science is explained in clear simple terms. There are some definite deviations in grammar structure between the Spanish and the English, so there might be some confusion there for beginning Spanish students.

I really enjoyed this unique book of dinosaur poetry. Douglas Florian was extremely creative while writing these poems and weaving facts into them. I also appreciated the pronunciation guide, glossary, and bibliography that were included. This would be a great book for dinosaur lovers!

Another great title from Douglas Florian, this book will be an instant hit with dinosaur fanatics (and I've already seen our library copies fly off the shelves). Each spread features a different dinosaur with a painting and a poem. The art includes so many creative details that kids will love to pore over the pages. The poems are humorous and feature the wordplay that Florian does so very well. A treat for those of us who read aloud are pronunciations of each dino's name right there on the page with the poem. Phew!

Fabulous dinosaur poems ~ great wordplay ~ very cool collage illustrations. Dinosaur fans, and even those who aren't, will love it!

This book has it all! Collage-style artwork that is constantly stimulating and mesmerizing. Poetry about dinosaurs. Humor and pop culture references to amuse hip parents. Factual info on dinosaurs at the end, as well as a list of further reading and dino-related museums and sites. I will be returning to this book!

Really fun children's book all about the dinosaurs. There is a description in poetry form of many different kinds. The drawings are fun, too. This is one I'll probably get when my son gets older.
